Job overview

An exciting position has arisen for a Patient pathway coordinator within our Gynaecology team in the Princess Anne Hospital. This is an area of high activity, we are looking for a candidate with excellent customer service and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise their workload with good typing skills. This is a fast passed role with a high level of responsibility.

Our admin teams are a valuable asset to the Gynaecology service ensuring the patient receives excellent customer service throughout the patient journey. We are a small friendly and supportive team covering each others duties as required. We are dedicated to the service and patients that we come in to contact with daily ensuring they have the best possible experience throughout their journey with us.

We are looking for 37.5 hours a week. The shift pattern are 8am - 4pm and 9am -5pm. You will be required to cover both shifts on a rota basis.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities Your Responsibilities What you'll do

You will be responsible for different elements of the administration of the patient journey this includes managing waiting lists, booking patients for admission into theatres within the national targets, escalating if this is not possible.. Liaising with consultants and other clinical team members to ensure the smooth running of the admin functions which are varied and sometimes complex. You will also be required to produce patient clinical correspondence and appointment letters sending to patients and GP's in a timely manner. Booking transport and interpreters will also sit under your remit alongside scanning of documents and answering calls from patients and the multidisciplinary team

What we're looking for

You will need to be able to work in a calm, logical and methodical way but be able to multi – task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions; you must also possess effective communication skills. You must be confident, diplomatic and able to work in a busy environment with a pleasant disposition. This role is varied and busy so you will need to have a flexible approach to a demanding workload and changing priorities. You will need to have a high standard of spelling and grammar and be someone who is committed to learn and develop. You will need to demonstrate compassion, patience, and calmness. Due to the nature of this role a high level of organisation is essential to deal with the conflicting work demands. We are also looking for you to have the ability to work independently, seeking guidance where necessary.
