Position Title: Research assistant (RA)

Research Project Title: Understanding the basic molecular signaling mechanisms behind various cell death pathways

Research Project Description

Galadari's Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our enthusiastic research team. The successful candidate will work as part of the research team to support the daily research activities in the laboratory. This position will be responsible for a wide variety of activities including bench work and coordination of research related activities.

Responsibilities of the Position (Bullet points)

  • Work closely with researchers to learn and then execute specific techniques
  • Be able to follow protocols and produce reliable results
  • Perform Western Blotting, immunoprecipitation, and ELISA experiments
  • Perform cell death and proliferation assay
  • Produce and record data which is clear and interpretable
  • Work with tissue culture
  • Qualifications

    Essential Qualifications:

  • Master degree in a biological science (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology)
  • Knowledge on Tissue culture and basic biochemical laboratory techniques (SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, and ELISA techniques)
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • An interest in cancer biology research
  • Interest in pursuing a research career
  • Experience with MS office suite, and google docs or related applications
  • Interpersonal/human relation skills and a team player
  • Organizational and analytical skills
  • Attentiveness to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
