Library Assistant (Evening Duty)

Grade 2. Part Time - 0.54 FTE (20 hours) Fixed Term to 31st March 2025

Salary: Grade 2.5: £21,150 pro-rata

We are looking for a friendly, customer service oriented person for our Evening Duty post. Duties will include; answering enquiries; working on our front line help and reception desks welcoming readers and administering the library's admission procedures, undertaking circulation tasks (such as issuing items), registering readers and answering basic IT queries.

The post is based at the Cairns Library, John Radcliffe Hospital, but the successful candidate may be expected to work at other Bodleian Health Care Libraries as required.

The post will include single staffing the Cairns Library on their own between 5pm and 7pm Monday to Friday and ensuring the staff areas & other relevant areas are locked up at the end of the staffed hours.

You will have excellent customer services and communication skills, as well as good general IT skills, including use of email, internet, and general applications such as Microsoft Office

The ability to work as part of a team, and independently is essential.

The hours will be Monday to Friday: 3.10pm to 7.10pm
