Department of Pharmacy at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences University of Copenhagen seeks to employ 1 part-time Lecturer for employment from 1 March 2024 for teaching in the subject of Regulatory Affairs in the USA.

Teaching at other courses will be possible upon agreement.

The Part-time Lecturer will plan and carry out teaching, exams and other student evaluations.

Job description

The post of Part-time lecturer is a part-time position with a view to independent performance of

teaching duties and instruction that supplements teaching provided at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.

You will be teaching classes and having lectures. In addition, you will coordinate within the classes on registration of medicines in the United States, specifically regarding topics such as FDA's organization, the specific FDA procedures, meetings and preparation for submission to FDA, as well as on the differences in relation to the registration of medicines in e.g. EU. In order, to maintain credibility it is recommend that you have practical experience with registration of medicines preferably from FDA, industry or both.

The post of Part-time Lecturer is a permanent position with teaching, student supervision and course responsibilities.

Required qualifications

Applicants for the part-time Lecturer position must have obtained an educational level corresponding to a master's degree, as well as:

  • employment in an academic principal position with another university, or
  • relevant practical experience at a high level which has not been gained through academic employment with a university.
  • Documented teaching activities and positive evaluations from students will be considered an asset.

    In addition to the requirements above the following qualifications are required good communicative/pedagogical skills is necessary. Documented teaching activities and positive evaluations from students will be considered an asset.

    Reappointment is possible to the extent this is in accordance with the Fixed- Term Employment Act, cf. above. The specific number of hours, etc., is fixed for each semester within the agreed framework.

    Terms of employment

    The position will be filled in accordance with the Circular on the agreement on Part-time Lecturers at universities et al. under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science (Ministry of Education) of 10 January 2019, agreed between the Ministry of Taxation and the Academics (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

    Furthermore, the employment is covered by the rules concerning Part-time Lecturers as described in the Job structure for academic staff at universities of 2020.

    The position is a permanent.

    The total number of hours may not exceed 500 hours per annum. Should the planning or execution of the lectures require it, the working hours may amount to a maximum of 780 hours per annum.

    The current hourly rate is 286.33 DKK (October 2023-level).
