Part-Time Lecturer for Designing Sustainable Futures (B-DDIT) and Values and Ethics in Design (K-DDIT)

The IT University of Copenhagen invites highly motivated individuals to apply for a Part-Time Lecturer position starting in January or soon thereafter and for a period of 3 years.

The Digital Design Department, IT University of Copenhagen, seeks a part-time lecturer to teach the course ‘Designing Sustainable Futures' in the BSc in Digital Design and Interactive Technologies, and the course ‘Values and Ethics in Design' in the MSc in Digital Design and Interactive Technologies. The part-time lecturer is expected to manage, plan, and develop the course and syllabi and take part in examination of the students.

Job description

‘Designing Sustainable Futures' is a 7,5 ECTS course that runs for 14 weeks on the 4th semester of the B-DDIT program, and has approximately 50 enrolled students. The aim of the course is to give the student a basic understanding of how to work with design, innovation and concept development, with an explicit focus on sustainability and regenerative thinking. ‘Values and Ethics in Design' is a 7,5 ECTS course that runs for 14 weeks on the 3th semester of the K-DDIT program, and has approximately 120 enrolled students. The aim of the course is to give the students the concrete skills and competences to articulate and critically work with values and ethics in advanced and complex design situations. General information

The IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) is a teaching and research-based tertiary institution concerned with information technology (IT) and the opportunities it offers. The IT University has more than 160 full-time Faculty members. Research and teaching in information technology span all academic activities which involve computers including computer science, information and media sciences, humanities and social sciences, business impact and the commercialization of IT.

Qualification Requirements

A requirement for the position is that the candidate as a minimum holds a candidate-/MSc- degree within a relevant field. Moreover, the ideal candidate should:

  • Document experience with teaching, preferably at university level, (including course design and development of teaching materials) in a related topic.
  • Have proven experience from working in the industry and/or the public sector with course related topics.
  • Salary

    Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Finance's agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
