The Philosophy Department seeks part-time lecturers for courses at various
levels across the curriculum, principally introductory courses and courses in
applied ethics, logic, and critical thinking.
Both distance ed and in-person courses available. Instructor must use
Blackboard to post syllabi and other required materials. Instructor will be
responsible for selection of specific topics, readings, and assignments,
ordering textbooks as needed, preparing, and delivering instructional content.
Instructor must provide students with developmentally meaningful feedback in a
timely manner, submit grades within university deadlines, and communicate with
both students and academic program director in a timely manner as needed.
Further, candidates should be prepared to meet the department's commitment to
integrate the contributions of nonwhite and non-male philosophers, and non-
Eurocentric philosophical traditions, into every course.

Starting pay rate based on highest degree attained and experience, ranging
from $3037 to $3702 per 3-credit course. Potential for promotion & concomitant
raises in future.
MA in Philosophy or cognate discipline (PhD preferred). At least one year of
teaching experience (as TA or independent instructor) required; experience
as independent instructor strongly preferred.
