Primary Purpose of Position

The Department of Chemistry is accepting applications for part-time instructors. Part-time instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach general chemistry courses delivered by the Chemistry Department. The maximum teaching load is four courses per semester. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Teaching face-to-face of General Chemistry lecture or laboratory courses, attend training sessions with Chemistry Faculty, train on home work and class activity software and assess student progress, participate in all of active leaning trainings and implementation, provide after class support to needy students as part of semester review.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The Department of Chemistry supports over 100 undergraduate majors and 16 graduate students along with providing general education in the areas of Fundamental Chemistry courses for most of STEM based departments, Health and Nursing students.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have a Master's degree in Chemistry or closely related subject with a minimum of 18 credit hour graduate course.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

Candidates with 1-3 years teaching experience are preferred for the lecture courses at the University or Community College level. No experience is needed for the laboratory courses.
