The School of Art within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks Part- Time Instructor to teach Color on Metal, a 3 credit hour course, during the Fall & Spring semesters, 2022 – 2023.

Jewelry and metalsmithing techniques and processes used to color the surface of non-ferrous metal objects.

Qualifications

MFA and/or equivalent MFA with 2 years teaching experience.

Job Specific Qualifications

Experience in techniques and processes used to color the surface of non- ferrous metal objects in the jewelry and metalsmithing practice.

Responsibilities

Teach studio course twice a week for 2.5 hours a session. Manage class prep, grading, office hours and lab time and manage studio space during class time; cleaning and resetting of space after each class meeting. Insure all safety procedures and standards are communicated and followed by enrolled students.

Leading introductory course in techniques and processes used to color the surface of non-ferrous metal objects in the jewelry and metalsmithing practice. Presenting historical and contemporary context. Introducing range of relevant process and safe studio practices.
