SUPERVISOR: Healthcare Career Pathways Navigator
BASIC FUNCTION: This part-time position includes classroom (both face-to- face and online) instruction, and lab and clinical instruction. Flexible hours.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required – Associate Degree in Nursing Active Iowa Nursing License Two years of nursing experience, at least one year of which must be in the provision of long-term care facility services Basic computer skills Valid Driver's License
Preferred – Two years of college level teaching experience. Bilingual in English and Spanish languages.
Copies of all academic transcripts are required. Unofficial copies are acceptable at the time of application. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment, a complete set of original transcripts will be required.
DESIRED QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS: 1. Broad knowledge of nursing at the CNA level with a solid grasp of applications in various healthcare settings. 2. Ability to work with a wide range of students in the classroom, lab, online, and clinical settings. 3. Ability to provide effective instruction across the entire curriculum core to a broad spectrum of traditional and nontraditional students. 4. Understanding of, and agreement with, the philosophy, conceptual framework, and learning outcomes of the NCC program. 5. Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills. 6. Demonstrates organizational skills and attention to detail. 7. Demonstrates time management skills.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Work in collaboration with the Healthcare Navigator and CNA Compliance & Education Specialist to ensure appropriate coordination of the CNA program. 2. Conduct necessary instruction within area high schools. 3. Conduct effective instruction in all assigned areas, using approved course outlines. 4. Develop and maintain current course syllabi/outlines for assigned courses. 5. Notify the Healthcare Career Pathways Navigator as early as possible of inability to meet a class. 6. Measure and evaluate student progress and maintain accurate grade computations. Submit grade reports to supervisor according to designated timelines. 7. Attend all required meetings and serve on College committees as directed. 8. Schedule and meet with advisory committees as assigned. 9. Assist in the budgeting process by identifying instructional materials and equipment. 10. Assist in promotion and recruitment of CNA students. 11. Submit requisitions for needed supplies to immediate supervisor. 12. Serve as a resource person for students and graduates regarding job opportunities. 13. Enforce all Northwest Iowa Community College student policies. 14. Participate in professional development activities. 15. Provide students written course expectations, including course objectives, attendance policy, methods of evaluation, and grading practices. 16. Other duties as directed by Healthcare Career Pathways Navigator or VP of Student and Academic Services.

WAGE/SALARY RANGE: $21.00/hr, plus mileage for travel to and from the teaching site.
