About the Department of Paediatrics
The Department of Paediatrics is the flagship representative of the
University's partnership with the Royal Children's Hospital. The Department
has responsibility for the Child & Adolescent Health component of the Doctor
of Medicine course of the School.
The Department delivers a range of teaching across the clinical, biological
and health sciences and within the MD program and is responsible for the
teaching of child and adolescent health, paediatric surgery, and other
specialties in relationship to children, adolescents and their families,
including mental health.
About the Role The Paediatric Clinical Teaching Fellow will be based at the Royal
Children's Hospital (RCH), working under the guidance of, and reporting to,
the University's Child and Adolescent Health Program Co-ordinators, who are
also based at RCH. The Paediatric Clinical Teaching Fellow will be responsible
for delivering high-quality clinical teaching and learning opportunities in
the Child and Adolescent Health (CAH) program within the University's
The Paediatric Clinical Teaching Fellow will also be offered opportunities to
actively participate in the curriculum development and design of the CAH
program and to contribute to the overall academic objectives of the Department
of Paediatrics and the Melbourne Medical School within the delivery of the
Delivering teaching sessions such as clinical skills coaching at the
Mentoring medical students within their general teaching activities
Contributing to the preparation and marking of written paper examinations
Examining for the Objectively Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE)
and Standardized Case base discussion held at the end of Semesters 1 and
