Job Summary
Outreach coordinator works closely with the University of Louisiana at Monroe
Harm Reduction Education and Referral for Opioid Overdose Reversal (ULM
H.E.R.O) Program and ULM College of Pharmacy faculty to connect with
community partners, coordinate community events, and set up education
presentations with healthcare programs at universities in Louisiana.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establishes relationships and partnerships with first responder
organizations and treatment/recovery centers, creating a network
foundation to meet grant goals.
Maintain all scheduled outreach events and coordinate training sessions,
including promoting each event to the public.
Plans and oversees community outreach events
Promotes and markets program initiatives to the community
Participates in harm reduction program
Advocate and create a network to link people with substance use disorders
with treatment/recovery centers and maintaining follow-up
Ensure our community partners and those who receive training have updated
case worker contacts with local treatment and recovery centers
Works with Evaluator to provide data
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to
effectively explain complex information. Strong documentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, ask
critical questions, and obtain pertinent information and details.
High energy level. Self- starter; willing to take initiative.
Unequivocal commitment to the highest standards of personal and business
ethics and conduct.
Experience in previous outreach coordinator positions and a working
knowledge of medical insurance information.
