Join our talented and committed team of professionals in our Student Recruitment, Marketing and Outreach Division.

We work throughout the student recruitment journey - from generating first awareness of higher education, to supporting students as they enrol and make the transition to university. We engage with prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students in the UK and internationally and are involved in dedicated strands of work to support widening participation in Higher Education.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of outreach activities focusing on schools and colleges in Brighton and the surrounding West Sussex region and delivering a programme of subject specific Saturday clubs. You will aim to increase the number of students who can benefit from expert advice and guidance and support the University in its goal of closing participation and attainment gaps between students from underrepresented backgrounds as part of the University's Access and Participation Plan targets.

Your responsibilities will include:

You will have, amongst other skills:

  • Experience in developing, managing, and delivering events/projects or membership schemes
  • The ability to deliver online events
  • The ability to evaluate and report on project impact and return on investment for a range of stakeholders
  • The ability to use initiative to meet objectives and adapt working approach to changing situations and circumstances
  • The ability to engage with a wide range of audiences in a professional and effective manner, for instance, delivering presentations to students and their supporters
  • Proficiency in using databases, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office suite and demonstrable commitment to maintaining and developing skills
  • You should also have a full driving licence and have not been convicted of any majority motoring offence of disqualification from driving. You will be expected to transport promotional and exhibition to various external sites. A University vehicle will be made available if needed.

The successful candidate will be asked to apply for an appropriate disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

In return, the university offers a generous pension scheme and annual leave package which starts at 25 days as well as additional leave over the Christmas period.

Flexibility with working hours and days will be considered (subject to business needs). This post is a 24 hours per week permanent position, with some evening and weekend work required. We are happy to talk about any flexible working arrangements with candidates before they submit an application. Should you wish to discuss this please contact Wendy Heasmer [email protected]

Interviews will be on-line, via Microsoft Teams, on 16th February 2023.
