Position Title Orientation Leader

Academic Year 2022-2023 UIW Mission

Position Summary

Orientation Leaders are vital in assisting new students at UIW with their transition to life at the University. OLs provide information about campus resources, help new students navigate campus, and share the mission with all incoming Cardinals.

This is a student position open to current UIW students.

Essential Functions

Walk students and families to various offices around campus;

Assist with setting up and tearing down orientation events;

Meet, greet, and mingle with new students, parents, and guests;

Answer repetitive questions while maintaining a friendly and customer service attitude;

Assist with the preparation of materials for each Orientation;

Attend mandatory meetings and training.

Other duties as assigned.

Strong verbal communication skills;

Dependable and responsible in job tasks and assignments;

Strong problem-solving skills;

Self-motivated and takes the initiative;

Works well with diverse populations;

Strong leadership skills;

Has a strong Cardinal spirit and pride for UIW.

Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education

Must be enrolled at UIW for Fall 2023 semester.

Required Work Experience

Some previous customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferably not enrolled in Summer 2023 courses.

Bilingual (Spanish)

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations Work Hours

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on training and prep days

7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on orientation days

Physical Demands

Ability to move about campus to conduct tours.

Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Withstand summer weather conditions.
