Job Description

The Organizational Development & Learning (OD&L) team leads a comprehensive workforce and talent development approach for the university's academic and administrative functions, bringing a holistic effort to creating conditions for thriving and professional success. Bringing a human-centered lens to design learning opportunities, the OD&L team provides learning opportunities for staff and faculty leaders at all levels.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Leadership Development, the OD&L Specialist will join emerging work to create, design, and deliver holistic programs and initiatives that enable employees to realize their leadership potential. The OD&L Specialist will lead early leadership development programming, including but not limited to leadership fundamentals and orientation for people leaders. In this position, the specialist will align existing and new initiatives to build conditions of thriving as part of OD&Ls commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and the BU Strategic Plan 2030.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-8 total years of work experience
  • 3-5 years of that experience in designing and delivering leadership development, adult learning, and training required.
  • Experience leading projects for optimal effectiveness
  • Experience facilitating learning experiences on a range of topics related to professional development, management, and leadership skills. Ability to assess training needs and evaluate impact
  • Experience working in a large complex organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience affirming marginalized communities, including Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC), first-gen, LGBTQIA+, and disability communities
  • Written and verbal communications that cultivate effective learning spaces and strong partnerships up, down, and across
  • Commitment, willingness, and ability to cultivating a learning culture from the inside-out
  • Preferred experience and skills:

  • Experience with content authoring tools (Articulate, Adobe Captivate, RISE)
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office suite
