Position Title Optical Services ManagerPosition Description
This position is onsite at 33 West 42nd Street New York, NY 10036
The University Eye Center seeks a talented and enthusiastic New York State licensed optician, with excellent leadership and technical skills, to join the optical team as the manager of the Essilor Eyewear Center. This individual will work collaboratively with other departments and department heads, faculty, staff, optometric students. patients and vendors. The successful candidate must be an effective leader who takes initiative, leads by example, meets deadlines, and fosters a spirit of teamwork to motivate and engage staff to meet their goals and objectives. Strong communication, problem solving and written skills are expected. Exceptional customer service, the ability to cater to our patients, and strong managerial skills are required.
To achieve this objective, the successful candidate will be responsible to:
Required Experience: • Current New York State Opticians License • 2 years of proven managerial experience • Knowledge of vision care plans and coverage • Computer literacy with proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
Preferred Experience: • Bachelor's degree preferred • Bilingual skills • Electronic health records experience
Hours : Full-time, Monday – Friday (Ability to work some evenings and/or Saturdays)
Annual Salary (including location pay) is $75,000 and there is also a generous benefit package. 15 days of annual leave to start and 13 paid holidays per year. We are a qualifying employer in the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. View our Benefits at a Glance
