Job Description

The Operations Business Analyst will take full ownership for the Clinical Information System (CIS),including but not limited to:

  • Acting as the main contact point with the software vendor, testing any new versions that are released, working with the CIS task force to identify new features to be implemented, and managing the roll out of new systems features, including change management and training.
  • Develop and recommend proposed solutions for the identified threats and opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify the full scope and impact of the proposal on major business areas of the Dental School Clinics.
  • Effectively prioritize the ongoing projects and create project plans with recommended time frames for the development and implementation of business solutions, processes, protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide final recommendations to the Executive Director of Clinical Administration, Director of Operations and the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs.
  • Work with students, residents, faculty, and staff to troubleshoot system and process issues (provide daily user support)
  • Required Skills

    A Bachelor's Degree in a field related to business administration, business management or information sciences.

    Must have at least 5-8 years of work experience working in a clinical information system environment preferably in a health care setting with strong knowledge of systems configuration and systems management.

    Must have at least 2 years of experience with project management practices and techniques being able to lead and direct the implementation and execution of the solution.

    Certification in Business Analysis (i.e CCBA or other recognized Business Process Analysis certification) highly desired.

    Familiarity and use of Standards for the practice of Business Analysis such as BABOK is preferred.

    Must have the ability to apply creative thinking in the use of the identification, definition and development of business processes.

    Must be able to write logical, comprehensive, concise reports and correspondence.

    Strong knowledge of project management techniques, principles and practices which includes effective project documentation.

    Effectively utilize time management skills and multi-tasking capabilities.

    Effectively handle multiple and parallel projects.
