Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Position Summary

The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, Department of Health Sciences, School of Medicine invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, early or mid-career faculty position. This is open rank, open track so academic rank and appointment track for this faculty appointment will be dependent on experience and qualifications. Primary responsibilities include teaching content related to the occupation-centered needs of youth or older adults and advising students in the Master of Science in occupational therapy program, advising in the PhD program, engaging in scholarship, and providing service to the division, university, and profession.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Required qualifications include: (1) earned terminal research doctoral degree in occupational therapy, occupational science, or related field (e.g., PhD, ScD, EdD); (2) teaching experience in occupational therapy and/or occupational science; (3) experience and interest in working collaboratively on projects/committees; (4) ability to contribute to the Division's mission of producing research and/or practice-related scholarship relevant to occupation; and (5) currently licensed or eligible for OT licensure in the state of North Carolina prior to employment start date.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Preferred qualifications include: (1) record of student research mentorship; (2) experience with student advising; (3) teaching experience of 3+ years; (4) clinical occupational therapy experience working with older adults or youth.
