The Division of Cardiology, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
has three available positions for general cardiologists. Two of the positions
will be full time clinical and responsibilities will include outpatient
cardiology care (including developing a referral practice), providing
inpatient care, interpreting echocardiograms, performing stress tests and
other non-invasive cardiology services, and teaching of cardiovascular
fellows, residents, and medical students. The position may also involve seeing
patients at an outreach clinic and/or interpreting advanced cardiac imaging
studies. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability
to practice independently are essential.
Responsibilities of the other position will include outpatient cardiology
care, providing inpatient care, interpreting echocardiograms and other imaging
studies, and teaching of cardiovascular fellows, residents, and medical
students. Interest in developing an independent, externally funded research
program, a track record in cardiovascular research, a strong interest in
collaboration and the ability to attract extramural funding are important.
Training in advanced cardiac imaging is an asset. This position will hold a
joint appointment in the McAllister Heart Institute.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will be ABIM-board certified or eligible in
Cardiovascular Disease. Training in advanced cardiac imaging is a plus.
