The Department of Physical Therapy at Texas State University invite applications for a clinical assistant professor, clinical associate professor, or clinical professor on the Texas State Round Rock campus. This position will be a nontenure line, nine-month faculty position. All positions are subject to the availability of funds. Faculty responsibilities will include teaching, academic advising, scholarship and service in the entry-level DPT program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience to support the vision of the Department of Physical Therapy, “To be recognized in the region, state and nation as an outstanding physical therapist educational program with quality faculty members, staff and students;” and contribute to the mission of the department “to address the health needs of society through excellence in education, scholarship, service and professional practice.”

Required Qualifications

Earned DPT; clinical specialization in orthopedic physical therapy; minimum of 5 years documented clinical practice experience in physical therapy; university teaching experience at the graduate level; experience and expertise to support graduate-level teaching and research; commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); leadership in program, university, and/or professional organizations; licensed physical therapist who is eligible for physical therapy licensure in Texas.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and experience in the following practice area(s) preferred: orthopedics, anatomy, therapeutic interventions, differential diagnosis; interest in research and/or developing scholarly productivity; ability to collaborate with a variety of professionals within a university and clinical/community setting; professional association membership; strong interpersonal skills; ability to educate and motivate the next generation of leaders in the physical therapy profession.
