The Department of Community and Behavioral Health at East Tennessee State University is recruiting an open-rank tenure track faculty member for a 12-month appointment, at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank beginning August 2022.
The ideal candidate will have a strong record of an innovative and productive research program in community-based participatory research, a history of, or promise in, successful external funding consistent with career stage, and experience teaching and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. The successful candidate will also have experience with both in-person and online instructional methodologies.
Responsibilities include the development of an ongoing research program and pursuit of funding opportunities, instructional development, and professional and community service. An active and productive research agenda is an important element of this position. The position will also involve teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs in public health, with opportunities for instruction through both in-class and online formats. In addition, the faculty member will engage in service activities to the institution and to the professional community, student mentoring, and will contribute to the growth of the department's academic programs.
Our Department, housed in a CEPH-accredited College of Public Health (https: // www. etsu.edu/cph/), offers a collegial and thriving environment with opportunities for faculty development and growth. The department is home to bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree programs in community health. Faculty enjoy strong working relationships with the region's public health and health care systems and the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across ETSU's academic health science center.
The college is part of the University's Academic Health Sciences division, which also houses the James H. Quillen College of Medicine, the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, the College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences, and the College of Nursing. This person will join a dynamic and growing department focused on interprofessional education and training.
