As part of Human Resources, the Onboarding Specialist will play a pivotal role in the onboarding and immersion of new employees into the University of Vermont's community. This will include communicating details to newly hired employees related to employee benefits, employee resources, relevant policies, compliance requirements and required trainings. This role will support hiring managers in UVM's hiring processes. This includes, but is not limited: to determining if background checks or other pre-employment requirement is required, initiating offer letters, and processing new hire actions in the HR systems.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associate's degree with one to three years related experience to include one year of customer service experience required. Effective written and verbal communication skills and high attention to details. Proficiency with computer software and the ability to learn new systems and software is essential. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality required. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of University students, personnel, and affiliates, and across multiple disciplines. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice issues, and fostering a collaborative, multicultural environment.
