General Description:
As the Human Resources Office Manager, you'll collaborate with the HR team to
provide multifaceted support for all operations and functions of the
department. You'll be responsible for creating a welcoming and professional
presence while offering high quality service to all Human Resources' internal
and external customers. Additionally, you'll support new hire processes, be
responsible for data entry and producing reports, maintain departmental
websites, and respond to requests from outside agencies. Reports to the
Director of Human Resources.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain a welcoming and professional presence for Human
Resources' internal and external customers.
Serve as a key point of contact for Human Resources, responding to general
inquiries and requests.
Provide administrative support to the office which includes assisting in
daily office needs, scheduling appointments, coordinating room
reservations, and managing general administrative activities.
Assist employees with new hire paperwork, including coordination of
reciprocal I-9 program.
Enter new hire information for all employees in HR database
(Ellucian).Oversee hiring process for temporary part-time employees.
Coordinate pre-employment requirements including background checks,
driving abstracts, education verification, and reference checks for the
declaration of sexual misconduct.
Respond to requests for information from outside agencies such as
employment verifications, sexual misconduct inquiries, and unemployment
claims.
Support benefit and leave administration through tasks such as tracking,
entry, and communications.
Assist with the planning and coordination of training, events and
workshops.
Outprocess employees leaving the university.
Produce monthly reports and related documents: Welcome letters,
introductory period completion letters, and new hire/terminations reports.
Maintain personnel files; coordinate document storage with outside vendor.
Maintain departmental websites for HR, Commute, Personnel Manual and
University Dispute Resolution Committee.
Supervise the department's student employees.
Participate in departmental staff meetings and attend other meetings and
trainings as needed.
Process departmental invoices. Track and monitor expenses.
Enter and maintain retiree information.
Serve as Emergency Building Coordinator (EBC).
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree OR two years of human resources, customer service, or
other job-related experience, education may substitute for some
experience.
High school diploma or GED.
Finalist applicants must satisfactorily complete pre-employment background
checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework or previous experience in human resources.
Experience with and/or knowledge of Ellucian.
Familiarity with and/or experience in higher education.
