Position Information

The Office of Title IX, Equal Opportunity & Affirmative Action (Title IX/EOAA), within the Chief Compliance Office at UCR, is dedicated to promoting and integrating the principles of equal opportunity, affirmative action, and accountability. As part of the ethics and compliance program lead by the Chief Compliance Officer, the office promotes a respectful, "speak-up" campus culture in which retaliation is not tolerated. Title IX/EOAA leads campus efforts to prevent and respond to all forms of sexual violence and harassment, and coordinates campus affirmative action programs and Clery compliance. Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor, the Office Coordinator supports the daily function of the Title IX/EOAA Office. Working in a dynamic environment and with sensitive matters, this position provides a full range of programmatic and administrative support involving conduction and documenting tasks requiring moderately complex data and policy review, analysis, and application. Duties include providing front desk coverage, often serving as the initial point of contact for students, faculty, staff and other visitors; answering the office's phone lines and email for triage of reports and inquiries; scheduling intakes with complaint resolution officers and supporting the intake process; supporting the Response Team Coordinator in case management efforts; coordinating and assisting in the creation of training and marketing materials; managing the website; and general office management. The Office Coordinator may also provide calendar and other administrative assistance to the Assistant Vice Chancellor and support the Chief Compliance team with triage and intake of whistleblower and other complaints and reports.

The maximum hiring budget for this position is up to $70,000.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is ten weeks after their first date of employment.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally. Strong organizational skills. Ability to logically comprehend, analyze and interpret data. Sound interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and diplomacy. Ability to interact with people diverse in characteristics such as age, education, position/level, national origin, race, gender, ability, and socioeconomic backgrounds, in a culturally-competent manner and regarding highly sensitive topics. Excellent attention to detail; ability to evaluate data for accuracy and completeness. Ability to use data to generate clear and concise reports to assist management in identifying and responding to patterns and trends. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Skills in seeking more information and asking questions when assignments are unclear. Ability to manage complex electronic case management system in an office with heavy caseload and high data volume. Sound judgment and ability to address reported matters with a sense of urgency and to escalate as appropriate. Ability to represent Title IX/EOAA with professionalism and sensitivity.

Preferred Qualifications

Intermediate knowledge of the ethics and compliance function.

Basic knowledge of issues relating to discrimination and harassment in a university or employment setting.

Ability to gather, organize, and complete analysis for intermediate audit assignments.

Familiarity with investigations or complaint resolution.
