Job Description Summary / TWC Summary
Under general supervision to provide administrative support for the
administrative staff, faculty, students and other constituents of the law
school. This includes supervision and accountability for 13 administrative
assistants, student workers and the daily functions they each perform. The
position is the first point of contact for administrative services related to
the day-to-day functions of the law school.
Essential Duties Summary
Supervise 13 administrative assistants and multiple student workers. This
includes providing guidance, advice, directions, compliments, discipline,
acknowledgments and recognition. It also includes monitoring attendance
and keeping track of approving requests for leave and other functions
related to the position.
Review and approve paperwork submitted by administrative assistants for
processing to include but not limited to authority to travel and
reimbursement requests, food orders, registration requests and office
supply requests.
Plan, organize and conduct departmental meetings. Order and maintain
inventory of office supplies. Coordinate and supervise the administration
of the first-year comprehensive exams at the law school in the fall and
spring semesters. Orient new hires to the administrative assistants
support team. This includes but is not limited to training on the day-to-
day operating procedures of the law school and some basic standard rules
and regulations of the university.
Filing and maintaining law school's personnel files as needed. Provide any
additional administrative support to the office of the dean, faculty,
staff and wherever else needed when necessary. Respond to emails, phone
calls and other departmental requests.
Assist in the preparation of key documents like the ABA Reports. Plan and
coordinate shredding and storage services. Manage mailing and copy
requests.
Plan and execute activities in honor of Administrative Professionals Day
and other major holidays to help foster better relations among team
members.
Plan and schedule administrative assistants to administer faculty student
evaluations and the administration of final exams in the fall and spring
semesters.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education
Some college or Associate degree (A.A.) and/or vocational or technical
school and/or specialized training or certification.
