  • Education and Missions: The post-doctoral fellow must have a PhD in engineering sciences with a strong component in mechatronics and multiphysics systems modeling (analytical and/or numerical). Skills in robotics and control would be a plus.

    His/her missions will be carried out in the framework of a collaboration between the two partners of the MagRobHealth project, the Roberval laboratory of the UTC and the ISIR laboratory of Sorbonne University. The post-doctoral fellow will mainly work on the modeling of magnetic continuous robots (multiphysics and numerical modeling), the synthesis of sensor referenced control laws and the experimental validation of the developed concepts. Several architectures and sizes of robots will be studied according to the targeted applications. In parallel to this work, the post-doctoral fellow will ensure the feasibility and the implementation of the manufacturing process of the designed magnetic continuous robots.

    Key words: Robotics, mechatronics, soft robotics, geometric, kinematic and multiphysics modelling, numerical modelling and simulation.

    Collaborations: A collaboration with a laboratory of the ETH Zurich in Switzerland is also possible within the framework of this project (Multi- Scale Robotics Lab).

    Previous experience: 0 to 3 years post PhD.

    Required Skills: Modeling of mechatronic systems, numerical modeling of engineering problems (finite elements, finite differences, Cell-Method or equivalent methods). Application to deformable structures (soft robots), multiphysics systems and/or robotics applications. Interest in applications and experimental validation of design and simulation results. Fluency in English (both written and oral expression).

    Programming and modeling tools: Numerical modeling tools (finite element code, SOFA software, other) and scientific computing (Matlab and Python). Experience in C/C++ programming would be a plus.

    Type of contract: One-year fixed term contract (full time).
