The Wellness Center is currently seeking applicants for a part-time counselor
position. Reporting to the Director of the Wellness Center, the counselor will
provide mental health services to a diverse student body. The activities and
responsibilities of the position are as follows:
Conduct comprehensive intake assessments in order to formulate appropriate
Provide short-term counseling services addressing a wide array of
presenting problems and symptom presentations
Consult with faculty and staff with the goal of helping to assess emergent
student crisis and to provide guidance on how to identify and engage
students in distress
Provide weekly clinical supervision for counseling staff.
Bachelor's Degree required.
A Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) OR a Master's degree
in an appropriate mental health discipline AND a New York State license as
a mental health practitioner (Social Work, Psychology, or Mental Health
Counseling) with 6 years of related experience.
The position follows a hybrid schedule. Candidate must be available to
work on campus some days (Monday through Friday).
$52.55/hour. 12-14 hours per week.
CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible
