Job Summary

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Department of Teaching and Learning announces a English Education Senior Lecturer position in a Wisconsin approved English education teacher certification program. This is a full-time (9 month) fixed term teaching academic staff position to begin August 2021 for one academic year. The successful candidate will teach English education certification courses that may include undergraduate, post baccalaureate, and graduate students and supervise teacher candidates in their field placements. The candidate will also collaborate to redesign the English Education methods courses.

Minimum Qualifications

•English education licensure/licensure eligibility •Master's degree with a specialty or focus in English education, curriculum and instruction, or literacy and language related field •Advanced coursework beyond a master's degree and/or demonstration of significant and related professional development •At least five years teaching in an English 6-12 classroom

Preferred Qualifications

•Seven or more years teaching in an English 6-12 classroom •One or more years of teaching experience in higher education •Experience culturally/linguistically responsive teaching in urban settings •Teaching experience in higher education focused on teacher education and the development of racial equity •Experience with inclusive education •Proficiency with online course delivery •A record of scholarly engagement
