Night Maintenance/Special Events Supervisor
Ozarka College seeks applicants for a full time Night Maintenance/Special
Events Supervisor. The Night Maintenance/Special Events Supervisor acting
under the direction of the Director of Physical Plant, is responsible for
general cleaning of areas in and around office buildings, classrooms, lecture
halls, conference rooms, auditoriums, dining areas, building common areas, and
other areas as required. This position is also responsible for the preparation
and coordination of special events and internal/external use of college
facilities. This position requires attention to detail, high energy, and
willingness to accept responsibility.
Position Specific:
Supervises a staff of part-time employees including making work
assignments and providing job-specific training.
Participates in the coordination of special events by discussing
facilities/multi-media equipment needs with requesting party, assisting
with equipment set-up, and offering technical advice concerning the
operation of equipment.
Operates multi-media equipment, as needed, and assists in preparing space
for special events.
Ensures all buildings are secure and locked.
After hours point of contact for student housing and campus needs.
Assists with maintenance, janitorial, courier service, lawn service, and
other Maintenance Department duties as needed.
Knowledge of maintenance/janitorial processes.
Knowledge of special event operations.
Knowledge of and ability to operate sound, lighting, and other types of
media equipment.
Ability to effectively communicate with others.
Ability to supervise the work of subordinates.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
Experience in maintenance, janitorial, or working with special events.
Demonstrated knowledge of the responsibilities and skill required to
fulfill the position responsibilities.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of a computer as it relates
to specific position requirements.
Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Demonstrated commitment to assisting students and faculty.
Demonstrated effective leadership and team building skills.
Demonstrated effective organization skill.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
