Next Generation Pastor The Next Gen Pastor oversees the ministry comprising young children to young adults. This position focuses on discipling the disciple makers. While teaching is a necessary component to this ministry, it deals more so with leadership development. The pastor must be excited about family ministry and working with different ministry teams to raise up the next generation of believers. Description of Job Oversee all ministries between children and young adult ministries Build teaching teams for ministries while serving as a primary teacher for students. Provide biblical counseling to children, students, and their parents as opportunities arise. Create a discipleship plan for different age demographics (preschool, children, Middle School, Junior and High School). Plan and execute a calendar of events that promote growth and community. Research and recommend all teaching content/curriculum. Utilize a team approach to ministry: recruit, train, and lead/support ministry workers. Involve the next generation in current ministries of the church. Create a strategy for evangelism and discipleship for next gen members and their parents. Maintain a community presence for the family ministry of FBC. Oversee the budget for Next Gen Ministry. Team Roles Participate with staff in praying, planning, and promoting the entire ministry of the church. Participate with staff in pastoral and prospect outreach. Other Duties Serve ex-officio on the Board of Elders and on one subcommittee. Ensure a smooth transition of students into college ministry and serve as liaison to our college ministry. Qualifications A born-again believer. Affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as statement of faith and adhere to conservative theology. Bachelor's degree in ministry or related field (Master's preferred). Clear calling to ministry. Pastoral Qualifications (1 Timothy 3). Become a member of FBC Neosho. Spiritually mature, growing in personal study, prayer, and discipleship. Humble, teachable, and team oriented. Pastoral heart and burden for the people and ministries of the local church. Gifts and talents in the area of next gen ministry, leadership, and administration. Interpersonal skills in relating to a variety of persons and personalities.
