Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Department of Neurology at the University of North Carolina School of
Medicine in Chapel Hill is recruiting for the position of Neurocritical Care
Division Chief. This position will serve as the academic leader of the
Neurocritical Care division. The Division manages 32 neurosciences ICU beds
across two hospitals (UNC Medical Center and UNC Rex in Raleigh) as well as
robust training and research programs. A qualified applicant should be a
board-certified Neurologist at Associate or Full Professor rank with
additional training or substantial experience in providing Neurocritical Care
as well as participating in teaching and research in this sub-specialty. The
person selected for this position should have experience in academic
leadership, faculty and APP recruitment and supporting faculty career
development. The Department of Neurology provides a competitive salary and
benefits package, as well as vacation and educational time.
The successful candidate will join an established team of 5 neurocritical care
physicians as well as dedicated APPs. UNC Neurology has a robust Neuroscience
Clinical Trials Unit in addition to basic neuroscience and imaging research
facilities. The program includes a Neurocritical Care fellowship with 2
fellows per year. The UNC Department of Neurology's faculty and staff are
committed to providing high quality comprehensive general and specialty
neurological care to the people of North Carolina and the Mid-Atlantic region.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD or equivalent required. Board-certified Neurologist and be eligible for
North Carolina licensure.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The successful candidate must be at Associate or Full Professor rank with
additional training or substantial experience in providing Neurocritical Care,
as well as participating in teaching and research in this sub-specialty.
Experience in academic leadership, faculty and APP recruitment and supporting
faculty career development.
