Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full- time position of Network Administrator, Sr. on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida.

Salary & Benefit:

The annual salary is $75,000. Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement. Full- time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.

Position Concept:

Serves as a senior network administrator with responsibility to ensure the stability, security, and integrity of the college's data, voice, and wireless network infrastructure and services. This is achieved by planning, designing, implementing, securing, monitoring, and maintaining local and wide area networks and associated services across the college. Manages projects, tasks, and priorities and provides leadership, training, and assistance to other network and cloud services employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and 1 years' experience working with networking, systems, IT security, and telecommunications OR ;
  • Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and 2 years' experience working with networking, systems, IT security, and telecommunications OR ;
  • High School Diploma or GED and 5 years' experience working with networking, systems, IT security, and telecommunications.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, and remote access.
  • Experience with LAN, WAN and WLAN design and implementation.
  • Experience with network design, capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose specific problems with networks, computers, and associated equipment and software.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license. A valid Florida Driver's License required within 30 days of hire.
  • This position will require successful fingerprinting and substance screening.The candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fees (currently $37.25/$59.20).These fingerprinting and substance screening fees ($37.25/$59.20) are non-refundable.

  • Official transcripts of all collegiate work will be required to be considered beyond the application phase.
  • High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.

    Minimum physical qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to access, input and retrieve information and/or data from a computer.Works inside in an office environment.
  • Works in or with moving vehicles and/or equipment. Works in noisy conditions.
