  • About the Role

    This position will contribute to the consultancy and research activities of the Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) South Australian (SA) node through the provision of specialised microfabrication services related to high-end microfluidic, electrical, and optical chips, and specialty surfaces for internal and external clients on a project basis.

    Essential Skills and Experience

  • A tertiary degree, or equivalent professional accreditation and standing, in engineering, chemistry, physics, materials science or a closely related discipline, with at least 2 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated technical and practical experience with advanced, and hands- on experience, in one or more areas of micro- or nano-scale fabrication
  • Practical experience in one or more of the following techniques: Lithography, deposition, etching, bonding and moulding and the ability to design 2D and 3D components and devices using advanced computer software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar for consultancy projects
  • Ability to utilise advanced analytical procedures and techniques to characterise complex components and devices for researchers and industry
  • Developed written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to positively represent FII and STEM externally and when fulfilling customer needs, effectively communicate scientific concepts and results to internal and external clients
