  • Position Summary
  • Multiple temporary hourly-intermittent Bridge Student Assistant positions in Athletics.

  • Start Date

  • Position available on or after June 1, 2023, and ending on or before August 31, 2023. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

  • Job Description/Duties

  • Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in providing high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants including basketball instruction and organization of small-sided basketball games and activities.
  • Assist in the supervision of campers and ensure their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being. Responsible for understanding ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
  • Assists Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the camp including: Conducting the camp daily curriculum, maintaining great public relations with parents and/or guardians and keeping the daily operation of camp organized and on-time by following the itinerary set forth for each day (while having the ability to improvise with the itinerary if necessary).
  • Helps each camper meet the goals established by the camp for camper development.
  • Ensures all equipment is properly, neatly, and securely stored each day at the completion of camp.
  • Other duties as assigned.

     Qualifications
    

     Preferred Qualifications: 
     Demonstrates prior experience in basketball as a player/coached in college, high school, or professional ranks.
     Demonstrates organizational and communication skills.
     Demonstrates the ability to lead activities for small and large groups.
     Demonstrates the ability to work with campers at all ages and levels.
     Demonstrates enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control.
     Demonstrates enjoyment from working with children and others.
    

    Required Qualifications:

     Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
     Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
