  • About the Role We are seeking a Product Development Officer to bring hands on product design, prototyping and manufacturing skills to the multidisciplinary team at MedTechVic. The successful applicant will be able to apply their knowledge and know-how to solve challenges associated with the development of new assistive technology solutions that are cost effective and manufacturable as well as meeting the needs of end users.

    You will have a practical, solutions focused approach and be interested in developing the partnerships required to create commercially viable solutions. You will have the opportunity to join and develop projects with industry and community groups and engage in teams in the co-creation of solutions with end users and future customers.

    The ideal candidate will be:

  • This exciting part-time (0.2 FTE) role is initially offered for a 6-month fixed term.

    About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Experience delivering projects involving product development, manufacturing and or design engineering
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse range of people
  • A start-up mindset and an efficient and agile approach to work
  • Demonstrated ‘hands on' technical skills
  • Qualifications A degree in product or industrial design related discipline with subsequent relevant work experience; or experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
