    biosensor using flexible multielectrode arrays

    Your Job:

    We aim to develop an electrochemical biosensor for the detection of target proteins in medical diseases. The biosensor principle should be fabricated and optimized on flexible substrate multielectrode arrays (flex-MEA). This fabrication aims to generate a Point-of-care (PoC) biosensor device.

    Your tasks in detail are:

  • Test different electrode designs to define the one that fits the best as a PoC biosensor test

  • Test and establish different immobilization techniques, and optimize and characterize the fabrication in terms of target detection using electrochemical techniques, such as impedance spectroscopy, voltammetry, and/or chronoamperometry

  • Confirm the parallel optimization and characterization with other physicochemical techniques like quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM)

  • Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in biomedical/electrical engineering, physics or similar

  • Desirable experience with electrochemistry

  • Willingness to familiarize yourself with new methods

  • Ability to communicate with scientists and technicians from various disciplines

  • Well-structured and systematic research approach

  • High degree of independent and analytical working style

  • Passion for science
