Research topic: regulation of gene expression in secretory cells of pituitary gland at non-coding RNA level

Project description

We are a young and dynamically developing research team interested in about how non-coding RNA influence the regulation of gene expression and molecular processes in neurons, glial cells, the brain and neuroendocrine system. In our projects, we combine the forces of molecular and cellular biology, systems biology and neurobiology.

Recruitment within the Opus 19 research project, no. 2020/37/B/NZ3/03633 , entitled Non-coding RNAs at single-cell resolution in the pituitary gland and their role in the regulation of gene expression , financed by the National Science Center. The main goal of the project is to expand the knowledge on circular RNA (circRNA) biology and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the pituitary gland by: 1) examining the expression patterns of circRNAs/lncRNAs in the mouse pituitary gland, 2) determining their cellular specificity and 3) functions. As a model we use cell lines and mouse tissues.

IBCH PAS is one of the leading research entities specialized in chemistry, molecular biology and biomedicine in Poland. The Institute provides access to technologically advanced research equipment.
