MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK (MSW) FIELD DIRECTOR/INSTRUCTOR

Position: Master of Social Work (MSW) Field Director/Instructor

Division: School of Social Work

Department: MSW Program

Start Date: January 3, 2022

Closing Date: OPEN UNTIL THE POSITION IS FILLED

This is a 12-month non-tenured, position.

Responsibilities : Under the general supervision of the Program Director of the MSW Program, assist in the development of the MSW program from an internship role; direct the MSW interns in a required agency experience. Participate in the reaccreditation of the MSW program by CSWE. Assist with student agency selection and provide on-going supervision in the process. Provide internship training/workshops to prospective and on-going Agency Field Supervisors. Serve on appropriate university-wide committees. Participate in the development of graduate level internship relationships with other universities, community organizations, professional associations, and alumni. Teaching one course per semester may be requested.

Qualifications: Minimum qualification is a Master's Degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program. Basic computer and research skills. At least two years, post the MSW degree, of effective social work practice and leadership experience. Demonstrated ability to conduct seminar courses and workshops; ability to work professionally with social work faculty, staff, students and agency personnel; must be able to communicate and work effectively with a culturally-diverse campus and community groups; strong commitment to diversity. Demonstrated excellent work ethics and an organized time manager. Desire a candidate with an established record of community engagement and practice experience is essential, and teaching commensurate with appointment; knowledge of CSWE accreditation and experience in internship development, program assessment. knowledge of professional state-wide or national organizations, and a strong record of collaboration and commitment to practice. Teaching experience related to culturally competent social work practice desired. Skilled in using technology and teaching on-line courses.

Finalists for this position are subject to a background check. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history and identity check.
