The School of Social Work at St. Ambrose University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Social Work, beginning July 1, 2023. This individual will have primary teaching responsibilities in the Master of Social Work Program. An engaged faculty member in this position will be able to teach across the Social Work curriculum and different course delivery systems, serve as a faculty field liaison, be an active advisor to students, provide leadership on university committees, and have a rigorous scholarship agenda. As one of seven health science departments within the College of Health and Human Services, the School is located in a supportive, collaborative environment with a strong focus on teaching as well as support for scholarship. Multiple interprofessional learning events and numerous outreach services enhance the student experience. Additionally, we value self-directed community involvement, inter-professional collaboration and active professional development for faculty and staff. This MSW Program has a single concentration in Empowerment Social Work Practice. Program options include the Full-time MSW, Part-time online MSW, Advanced Standing MSW (online and on campus), and dual degrees including MSW/MBA and MSW/MPH. The position requires an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and a PhD in social work or related field. Applications from ABD's will be considered. A minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience is required and evidence of effective teaching is essential. Direct clinical practice experience is preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Priority will be given to applicants showing a strong history of teaching and practice experience with vulnerable populations.
