This position will allow students the opportunity to explore their passion for graphic design, expand their skillset, and increase their knowledge of design programs while marketing and promoting the programs and services of Indiana State University. The Student Graphic Designer will be able to use their creativity and critical thinking skills to draw the attention of the Indiana State community and beyond to increase involvement in events, build awareness, elevate the university brand, and enhance their overall collegiate experience.

Specific Responsibilities Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Hours may vary based on specific projects.

    Job Duties

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design marketing materials for campus programs and events including colleges, admission, and other collaborations.
  • Continue to enhance working knowledge of design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Be adept in design research, concept building, brainstorming, revision techniques, layout design, proofreading, and assessment of graphical elements.
  • Provide effective and efficient designs for large and small scale digital/print materials under strict deadlines.
  • Incorporate clients' feedback and detailed specifications into all design projects.
  • Brainstorm new design ideas as requested and bring them to execution.
  • Resolve potential project conflicts through problem-solving, suggestions, and alternative ideas.
  • Organize design material and archive projects as they are completed.
  • Work with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural competence.
  • Collaboration and ability to work closely with others is required for success.
  • Adhere to all University Marketing and brand guidelines.
