Position Overview:

The Marketing & Social Media Career Peer Advisor (CPA) is an integral part of the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) team and our mission to educate, support, and empower students as they discover and pursue a path to fulfilling careers. The Marketing & Social Media CPA will work closely with the CCPD staff to develop marketing content to promote our events, services, resources, and enhance our social media engagement.

Specific Responsibilities:

Marketing

  • Develop, plan, and implement marketing plans to engage students and promote CCPD events, programs, services, and resources.
  • Design, create, and distribute internal and external promotional/marketing materials for CCPD programs and events.
  • Social Media Management & Design

  • Create innovative promotional materials using Canva, Adobe InDesign, and/or Photoshop for social media, digital advertisements, and emails
  • Manage, administer, and improve CCPD social media accounts (Instagram and LinkedIn).
  • Monitor web analytics and track the growth and impact of CCPD social media to make strategic decisions.
  • Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in CCPD sponsored events and career fairs.
  • Engage with students and the NCC community as an ambassador for CCPD.
  • Provide administrative support to the CCPD professional team with office duties and online resources.
  • Paraprofessionals:

    The Center for Career and Professional Development Career Peer Advisor role is recognized as a paraprofessional role at North Central College. The CCPD will follow the paraprofessionals timeline accordingly to allow students the opportunity to engage in multiple processes to maximize on their experiences at North Central College. Applicants are welcome and encouraged to apply to additional paraprofessional roles as their interests and qualifications align.     Job Qualifications:

  • Excellent candidates for this position will be creative, organized, and able to work independently, with strong copywriting/editing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, public relations, or related field. You will be asked to provide 1 or 2 examples.
  • Proficiency in digital media software such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, and/or Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of social media and current marketing trends and techniques and experience working with social media platforms.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and accept individual responsibility for projects and assignments.
  • Innovation to creatively enhance and strengthen CCPD's campus and online presence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally as a team member with fellow CPAs and professional staff.
