  • Two (2) temporary hourly-intermittent Work Study Student Assistant positions in Communications & Public Affairs.

  • Start Date

  • Position available on or after September 1, 2023 and ending on or before May 24, 2024. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

  • Job Description/Duties

  • Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Contribute to Stanislaus State's social media presence, including developing ideas, creating content and scheduling posts for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other social media platforms.
  • Assist with specific social media campaigns.
  • Collaborate on video marketing projects.
  • Assist in planning, writing and managing video scripts, social media content, marketing content, blog posts, etc.
  • Edit pages on the csustan.edu Drupal site (we will train you!)
  • Post images and photos to the website.
  • Clean up content and directory structure on the website.
  • Assist with web accessibility updates and remediation.
  • Build custom website forms within Drupal.
  • Help fulfill, solve and handle web work order requests from across the campus.
  • Communicate with University departments and programs regarding site updates and edits.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of specific marketing campaigns and projects.
  • Learn how to draft and distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories.
  • Design flyers, graphics, emails and other marketing materials for programs and events.
  • Generate graphic elements to be used on the web, such as creating banner images and cropping photos to specific dimensions.
  • Attend campuswide communications and creative monthly meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

     Qualifications
    

     Preferred Qualifications: 
     Demonstrates familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel and other computer programs.
     Demonstrates effective, and professional, verbal and written communication skills.
     Demonstrates the capability to be dependable, and follow through on assignments.
     Demonstrates experience working with Microsoft Office software.
     Demonstrates excellent troubleshooting and research skills.
     Demonstrates excellent grammar and editing skills.
     Demonstrates the capability to be self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
     Demonstrates a firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space.
     It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent demonstrates proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere or Camtasia.
     It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of HTML, CSS and graphic design.
     Demonstrates proof of working toward a degree in communication studies, creative media, computer science or a related field is preferred (e.g., English, marketing/communication studies, business, art, etc.).
     It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent possesses a previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications.
     Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of web accessibility.
     It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent possesses previous experience with a content management system, preferably Drupal.
    

    Required Qualifications:

     Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
     Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
