Job Description Summary
This is a full-time calendar year position limited to 12/31/2022 with
As part of the Coastal Institute (CI) team, assist in the support of CI
Senior Fellow research and multi-partner, multi-year funded projects,
including but not limited to the following research projects: Climate Response
Demonstration Sites (CRDS), Sources, Transport, Exposure & Effects of PFAS
Superfund Research Program (STEEP), North Atlantic Coast Cooperative
Ecosystem Studies Unit (NAC-CESU), URI Plastics Land to Sea Initiative.
Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the CI Assistant Director and CI team on a variety of duties
that include, but are not limited to, the following:
Help to coordinate the day-to-day operations of CI, assisting with financial
management, proposal development, CI Senior Fellow events, and a range of
science communication product development.
Support budget planning and oversight, logistical organization, promotion for
events, webinars, lectures, and workshops, including the CI Climate Response
Demonstration Site workshops, Annual Scott W. Nixon lecture and CI Senior
Gather data and information to further CI research products; this may include
organizing, delivering, and analyzing data on issues of relevance to the topic
of a specific project.
Conduct literature reviews and internet searches as required to aid in the
development of websites, program reports, or outreach materials.
Generate graphical representations of budget and/or program activities, etc.
for inclusion in administrative reports, proposals, workshop presentations,
and technical/outreach publications.
Develop and maintain databases for tracking contracts, publications, events,
and other key project-specific data as needed.
Help to coordinate the CI Senior Fellow network by maintaining contact
database, website information, and Listservs.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May require periodic out-of-state travel and/or attendance at night and/or
Participate in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion training sessions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
Personal computers, printer; word processing, database management and
spreadsheet software, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Minimum of four years of experience providing fiscal and organizational
support in a non-profit, educational, or research environment.
3. Demonstrated experience responding to informational requests to support

media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.)
