Description

The Manger of Clinical Project I supports research projects by working with investigators at the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research to develop, implement and monitor research and data protocols.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Responsible to the assigned administrator and has a support responsibility to all other departments and college personnel as necessary.
  • SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate effective communication between the Office of Data Management and Biostatistics, research clinic personnel, and research investigators to ensure timely design and delivery of data collection forms, web database systems, and data management plans for assigned research projects.
  • Assist with developing clinical and data protocols, data collection forms, manuals of operating procedures, informed consent documents, and other documents pertinent to project conduct.
  • Conduct day-to-day supervision of defined aspects of projects, such as recruitment activities and enrollment status.
  • Conduct training and continuous quality improvement of research clinic personnel involved in assigned research projects.
  • Monitor clinical and data protocols for assigned research projects.
  • Communicate with the Institutional Review Board regarding the protection of human participants for assigned research projects.
  • Formulate and guide plans for solving project-related problems.
  • Generate project management reports and assist in the preparation of project reports for assigned projects.
  • Assist in writing project abstracts and manuscripts for publication in the peer-reviewed literature as requested.
  • Assist in writing grant applications as requested.
  • Adhere to all federal and state compliance for data management and reporting.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and security standards for project management.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of goals and plans of actions consistent with the Center and Colleges objectives.

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Requires a bachelors degree. A clinical degree (e.g., D.C., M.D., R.N., P.T., O.T.) and/or graduate degree in clinical research, epidemiology, public health or related field preferred. Certification as a clinical research professional and experience coordinating clinical research projects desired.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Performs sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted, and temperature controlled office setting.
  • Frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the workday.
