About the Position

The Northern Western Australia and Northern Territory Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub (Northern Hub) is a consortium of partners comprising primary producer peak bodies, State and Territory government agencies, natural resource management organisations, regional development agencies and is hosted by CDU. The Hub has secured $14M through various Commonwealth Government programs to support the Hub.  The Hub will transform the resilience of farmers, traditional owners and communities in the Northern Territory and Northern Western Australian tropical Top End and rangelands. This will be achieved by focusing on pastoral, broadacre, horticulture and forestry systems and water management.


As the Manager – Northern Hub you will report directly to the CEO (Hub Director) and will be guided by the board and the Hub Committees to provide leadership in this nationally significant program. You will be responsible for managing the expert team delivering Hub activities and ensuring the delivery of the Hub Strategic Plan, Business Model and Operational Plan, establishing measures and reporting regimes and working with the Hub partners and Stakeholders to deliver impactful collaboration.  


About You
To be successful, you will possess:

  • An understanding of Northern Western Australia and the Northern Territory Agriculture.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture and/or Organisational Development with extensive relevant experience in a senior management role.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic, innovating thinking to develop options, critically evaluate alternatives and implement integrated and equitable solutions to complex workplace issues.
  • A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse range of stakeholders including industries, government, universities, research and extension organisations and Indigenous groups.
  • Demonstrated project management capability to deliver key organisational development projects on time and within budget.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills combined with a management style which is innovative, solution focused and partners effectively with clients and other expert areas.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills including the ability to examine evidence, and provide advice on policies, strategies and solutions with respect to complex problems.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication capabilities.
