Normal Work Schedule:
8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday-Friday. Evenings and weekends required for events
and/or football and baseball games.
Job Summary:
The Hospitality Manager manages the gameday suites for football and baseball,
while coordinating daily hospitality activities and operations. The manager
supervises staff members and maintains a high level of customer service. This
position manages the hospitality services budget and is responsible for
hiring, training and evaluating support staff including student employees.
Finally, a successful Hospitality Manager must communicate effectively with
staff, faculty, vendors, caterers and donors throughout the University and on
game days.
Essential Duties:
Plans, organizes, and manages the daily operations of the hospitality
staff to ensure efficiency.
Supervises staff members and communicates the importance of customer
satisfaction.
Prepares the monthly budget of the hospitality services and creates
expenditure reports for the Associate Vice President of Auxiliary and
Business Services review.
Checks the quantity and quality of supplies and equipment on a daily
basis, such as guest amenities.
Attends to any complaints logged by guests in a professional and timely
manner.
Performs monthly and annual evaluations of staff members according to
performance and participation.
Works with the human resources department to recruit and train new
personnel.
Determines the future goals of the hospitality services by studying market
trends.
Develops an intern program to provide additional staffing as needed.
Creates and assembles Menu Portfolios as agreed upon with the Caterer.
Works in conjunction with the ticket office to prepare, package and
deliver season tickets, parking passes, and other essential credentials
and information pertinent to the Donors.
Prepares a newsletter for distribution to Donors with information relevant
to their participation.
Initiates posting of Hospitality Services information on the University's
website.
Creates and collects results from the post-season survey.
Works in conjunction with the Office of Advancement Services to enhance
Donors' gameday experience.
Compiles a Pre-Season Report to the Capital Planning staff of maintenance
problems and a follow-up report upon completion of corrections.
Completes a Post-Game Report to the Capital Planning staff following each
event, including details of any operational and maintenance issues.
Develops a year-end report that includes: survey results, budget
closing/projects, evaluations, and recommendations.
Evaluates admission procedures and general hospitality functions.
Develops and manages a student-host program.
Develops and oversees the gameday security plan in conjunction with
University Police Department.
Works closely with the Caterer on menu development, food presentation, and
a plan for excellent service while maintaining a balance of effective
pricing and cost efficiencies.
In conjunction with Capital Planning, develops and manages a checklist of
duties to include pre-game preparation, gameday trash removal, gameday
cleaning and post-game cleaning.
Serves on the gameday planning committee and acts as the liaison between
Capital Planning, Advancement Services, Public Safety, Catering Services,
and Event Services.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, office
administration, or relevant field.
At least 4 years of experience working in the hospitality industry
At least 2 years experience working in a management or supervisory role.
