Manager, Development and Alumni (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the
Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref. 528730) (to commence as soon as
possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and
University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10%
of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory
performance)
HKU Business School Development and Alumni Team is looking for a results-
driven and experienced professional with a strong understanding of the
Mainland China market and a passion for business development in the
education sector to join our dynamic team.
Applicant should possess:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related
field;
At least 5 years of experience in business development, fundraising, or
partnership management, with a focus on the Mainland China market;
Demonstrated success in generating and delivering effective pitches and
securing funding or partnerships in Mainland China;
Strong understanding and experience in using Chinese social media
platforms, such as WeChat and Xiaohongshu, for business development
purposes;
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building
abilities in both Chinese and English;
Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
in a team environment; and
An excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement business development strategies specifically
tailored to the Mainland China market, identifying and cultivating
partnerships, sponsorships, and funding opportunities for the school;
Establish, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key contacts in the
corporate, government, and non-profit sectors in Mainland China, as well
as with alumni and prospective donors;
Plan, coordinate and execute a wide range of events, including webinars,
conferences, networking gatherings, alumni reunions and fundraising
activities. Develop and manage event timelines, logistics and budgets to
ensure successful and smooth event execution;
Create compelling pitch presentations and proposals in Chinese to secure
financial support and collaboration for various initiatives and projects;
Leverage Chinese social media platforms, such as WeChat and Xiaohongshu,
to engage potential partners and donors, and to promote the school's
initiatives;
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to align Mainland
China fundraising and partnership objectives with the school's overall
mission and goals; and
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of business development efforts in
Mainland China, and proactively provide insights for continuous
improvement.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
