    About the Office of the Provost Led by the Provost, the Office of the Provost supports achievement of the vision and objectives for education and community contained in the Advancing Melbourne strategy. The Office of the Provost sits alongside other divisions (Research, International, Strategy & Culture) within the Chancellery.

    About the Role The primary purpose of this role is to support either Faculty or Chancellery in providing oversight and effective management of the casual workforce within the relevant faculty. You will achieve this by ensuring that the Supervisors of casual employees have the support, tools, and resources they need to ensure that all casual staff are engaged in a meaningful and fully compliant manner, including being paid correctly.

    Joining a newly formed Community of Practice, you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders on important initiatives for casual staff that will support the operations of the faculty.

    Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the Community of Practice to develop the requirements for a simple, easily updated casual employment dashboard and engage the local leadership team to ensure it is fit for purpose.
  • Establish regular reviews and reporting of casual employment compliance practices within the relevant area, ensuring a high level of compliance and accuracy with university audit processes
  • Enable leaders to communicate, advise, support, deliver and embed University wide consistent. processes, policies and practices that positively impact the engagement and management of casual staff.
  • About You You will be a keen problem solver, with excellent communication skills and a passion for working with people. Drawing on your leadership expertise, you will work with a high level of initiative and drive to achieve objectives and influence key stakeholders. Your ability to connect and collaborate with others will set you up for success in this role.

    You will also have:

  • Demonstrated experience with the development and delivery of complex change management programs and project implementation.
  • Ability to manage, interpret, and present data.

  • Ability to work within a complex matrix mgmt. structure
