Job Title Maintenance Mechanic Electrician - Jackson County

Job Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION: This position will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all physical plant systems. The position requires a person with multi-craft skills. This position reports to the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent of Physical Plant.

Job Duties

1. Experience with high voltage and three phase electricity set-up. 2. Troubleshoot and repair maintenance problems. Problems may include electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, welding, mechanical and janitorial, etc. 3. Change light bulbs, ballasts, and fixtures as required. 4. Responsible for maintaining inventory of exterior lights that need repair. 5. Repair plumbing problems that are assigned. 6. Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and buildings as assigned. 7. Monitor facility needs of special events. 8. Maintain inventory on tools and equipment required for the position. 9. Work with contractors, subcontractors, and other vendors on campus as assigned. 10. This position requires physical mobility, manual dexterity, and ability to lift as least 70 pounds. 11. This position requires climbing ladders, working on rooftops, and other physically demanding duties. 12. This position requires the individual to maintain a valid MS Driver's License. 13. This position may be required to occasionally work weekends, holidays, and evenings/nights. 14. Any other duties as assigned. 15. Submit work orders upon completion of tasks with any discrepancies noted. 16. Read blueprints, schematics, and charts. 17. Work with all other maintenance personal as assigned. 18. Be available for emergency repairs. 19. Upgrade skill level and performance through employee development.

Mandatory Qualifications

MANDATORY: (M1) NCCER Level 1 and 2 with one year experience (or) Electrical Certificate/ Diploma or Degree with one year experience (or) high school diploma or GED with 5 years of verifiable occupational experience. (M2) Must be able to communicate effectively.

Desirable Qualifications

DESIRABLE: (D1) Experience with high voltage and three phase electricity set-up. (D2) Associate degree in electrical technology. (D3) PLC experience. (D4) Email and computer experience. (D5) Experience working with a computerized energy management system. (D6) HVAC experience. (D7) Control system experience in all levels.
