The basic hours are 35 hours per week but there is regular overtime available of 7 hours per week and after a suitable familiarisation period, voluntary inclusion on a callout rota. On top of the guaranteed overtime there is potential for some additional overtime to be earned but this is not guaranteed. OTE between £39,740 and £41,000.

The role

The Maintenance Electrician will play a vital part in supporting our endeavours by carrying out the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, to keep our estate running safely. This particular role is planned to have a focus on electrical condition surveys of the University's Estate but there is a varied mix of work that could be included, depending on your skill set, from changing a fuse to programming/fault finding an IP based lighting or other such system.

About You

You will bring technical experience of maintenance of a variety of modern building services, you will be computer literate and have the drive to visit various locations across our large Estate sometimes at short notice to solve a variety of associated issues. You will have the motivation to complete a task while applying your knowledge of health and safety and risk assessment. You will be a strong team player, but also be self-sufficient and able to work independently. A full driving license is essential to travel to other local sites.
