    This Position is Open Until Filled.

    South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Maintenance Custodian. This position will work a day shift of Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.

    This position supports the core mission to support student success by providing clean, sanitary, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing buildings. Building conditions are critical components that affect student retention and completion through environmental facility conditions conducive to teaching and learning.

  • What You'll Do

    High pressure washing:

  • Operates a high-pressure washing system to clean large areas, such as building walkways, entrances, and dumpster areas.
  • Other similar assignments
  • Washes exterior windows and walls:

  • Uses window washing equipment to clean the exterior glass.
  • Other similar assignments.
  • Keep ground clean:

  • Picks up paper and other debris from the grounds.
  • Picks up the weeds of the buildings landscaped parameters.
  • Blows and sweeps around the buildings
  • Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
  • Removes snow from sidewalks and entrances using a snow blower and/or shovel.
  • Waste collection
  • Collects and takes out trash and recycling.
  • Event support:

  • Setup and tear down rooms for meetings and special events.
  • Clean up after events.
  • Qualifications You Possess

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience
  • Collaborative -- The ability to work in culturally diverse groups toward a common goal by involving, including and valuing others.
  • Critical Thinking -- The ability to use inductive and deductive reasoning to understand diverse perspectives.
  • Commitment to a working environment that values a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds

    COMPENSATION Your paycheck is just part of your total compensation package, with an employee benefits package worth about 30% of your salary.

    VACATION AND SICK LEAVE Annual leave includes vacation, 11 paid holidays, and 12 days of sick leave. Additional leave may fluctuate as a result of the WFSE union bargaining agreement
